Senior Interior Design Capstone
Fourth-year students are tasked with a capstone project as part of the interior design curriculum at Rochester Institute of Technology. Each student chooses each topic and I chose the topic of Interior Perspective into Prototypical Hurricane Resistant Housing. Many homes are affected each year by hurricanes but are now being designed to withstand the effects of hurricanes. An example of a company producing hurricane-resistant homes is Deltec Homes. However, many hurricane-resistant homes are not accessible nor inclusive so the capstone question is “How can prototypical hurricane-resistant housing be rethought to consider human factors in design?”
